YEEP tech and business week, April 2024
Workshop week in April 2024 in Hawassa, Ethiopia with focus on business and technology
The next visit to Ethiopia is in the pipeline: From 5 to 15 April 2024 (possible alteranative dates: 12 to 22 April 2024 or 19 to 29 April 2024) we will organize the next YEEP week in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Application for participants from Switzerland is now open. Please note: the dates are not yet confirmed as Hawassa University does not yet know their exact semester dates. You can chose among 3 alternative options for the date in the application form and we will take the final decision once we have the confirmation from Hawassa University.
On what will we work?
During the YEEP week, we will work with a group of Ethiopian students, who already have a concrete business idea, on which they are currently working. Those Ethiopian teams will decide before the YEEP week, if they want to focus more on the business or the techical side. Working on the business side means to improve their business model and differnt aspects of it such as finances, definition of the customer, communication etc.). Working on the technical side means to finish a first prototype (depending on the idea this can be a model of a machine, a website or an arduino model of the final product).

Are you a student at one of our partner schools (first priority) or from another institution? Would you like to work during one week with Ethiopian engineering students from Hawassa to develop business ideas or support them in developing their business model or technical prototype?

Dates: Departure from Switzerland on Friday 5 April in the evening. Return to Switzerland on Monday 15 April in the morning.
Alternative dates: The dates are not yet confirmed. In the application form, you can indicate your preference for the main date (5 to 15 April 2024) or two alternative dates (12 to 22 April 2024 or 19 to 29 April 2024).
Who is behind it: YEEP is a project of DEVENTURE, an association based in Bern, Switzerland. DEVENTURE is a non-profit organization who offers different projects that promote entrepreneurial thinking and exchange between Switzerland and Ethiopia.
